What We Do

Mission: To enhance safety on our streets, in our neighborhoods and in our homes, by promoting positive behavior.

Past Activities: Pedestrian Safety, “Confusion Coroner” Improvements, Senior Safety, Older Adult Fraud, Safe Operating Detection Cues (distributed to all County Law Enforcement).

How to Get Involved

TASK FORCE MEMBERS INCLUDE: Lycoming County Coroner’s Office, PA Department of Transportation SAFETY Project, UPMC Nurse Family Partnership, Williamsport Bureau of Police, Lycoming County Department of Safety, Penn State Cooperative Extension, AARP – Lycoming County, Lycoming County District Attorney Office, PA Department of Health, LCHIC, and Community Volunteers are Welcome!

CURRENT INITIATIVES: Educational articles “SADIE SAYS” published in the North Penn AAA news magazine six times a year with over 130,000 readership. The articles address traffic safety issues faced by older adults to help raise awareness and address several risky older drivers (over 55 years old) behaviors.

Monthly Williamsport Sun-Gazette SENIOR SUN articles written by health and safety agency representatives and volunteers on frequently asked questions on issues impacting older adults.
