Description: JVBL provides a wide range of free public library srevices including: loan of materials in various formats, public access computers and free Internet access. The library has an extensive consumer health collection and offers access to Medline and other online databases on consumer and business issues. The Youth Services Department offers ongoing programs to enhance early childhood educational development including Parent/Child Workshops, early literacy enhanced story times, as well as programs for school aged children and teens. The library has an extensive collection of parenting materials in print and video format, is an Adoption Resource Information Center, has an Adoption, Autism, Apraxia, and Grandparents who parent their Grandchildren support and information groups as well as operating the local Literacy programs including Family Literacy.

Program: Parenting Skills Training
Description: (D&A training for parents) Valley Prevention Services is a private nonprofit provider of substance abuse prevention and education services in Clinton and Lycoming Counties. Services include single event presentations on drug and alcohol related information to children, youth and adults provided in classroom and community based setting. Multi session services for elementary school age youth on tobacco prevention, substance abuse prevention and general lifeskills. 14 lesson program life skills program called Foundations for preschoolers ages 5 and 6 in preschool/daycare setting. DUI evaluation and education services as required by state law for persons arrested for DUI. Services for teenage Offenders Program (STOP) education course for youth arrested for alcohol violations. Work with area community based coalitions. The DUI Classroom Education Program and The STOP Program are available in the evening. Other services may also be available in the evening. Program: assistance to first time mothers
Description: Helping first-time, low-income mothers providing pregnancy and parenting information, support and mentorship. Visits are in your home, or at a convenient location, by the same nurse. Visit times are muturally agreed upon and take place, generally, every-other week until the bby is two years old. You can enroll as early in your pregnancy as you wish, but no alter than 28 weeks pregnant. Information about the birth of the baby, development of the baby as well as information and support to mom so that she can continue with her life goals is shared.
