Ongoing Organizational
Accomplishments
- Developed an
organizational structure and secured initial
(seed) funding to support our efforts.
- Conducted
countywide assessment of community health
needs in 1995 and 2000
- Analyzed,
identified and prioritized the community's
needs.
- Developed
focused action teams within the community to
address identified needs.
- Developed
partnerships with over 100 individuals
representing over 100 Lycoming County
organizations.
Task Force and Coalition Board
Accomplishments
- A community health
clinic has been created to replace the emergency department at the
hospital.
- A dental clinic to
meet the needs of the indigent population has been created through
the collaboration of a number of agencies.
- The directory of
health and human services was put on-line as part of the
Coalition’s new web site:
www.lchic.org.
- A national model
program for universal approaches to prevention of substance abuse
has been implemented and customized for Lycoming County (PROJECT
STAR).
- Project SHARE, an
intensive “adopt a school” project, has been implemented in
several elementary schools as a project to engage parents,
community members, schools and community organizations to teach
positive behaviors/skills to children.
- The Coalition and
Project SHARE is a Communities That Care site for Lycoming County
through the PA Partnership for Children Organization.
- A community code of conduct has been endorsed by over 50 Lycoming County
organizations. This code teaches that adult leaders are key role
models for children and that violence is on a continuum that
begins with lack of respect and discourtesy towards others.
- LCHIC has made
partnerships with over 100 county organizations to improve our
communities’ overall health, well-being and quality of life.
- Our On-Line Services
Directory found at www.lchic.org lists over 500 Lycoming agencies,
contact information and how those agencies can help County
residents with health challenges.
- Establish linkages
with key organizations both on-line and in the community.
